Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day falls on 14 February every year. It is not a public holiday but is widely celebrated as a day of love.

Valentine's Day is named after Saint Valentine, a Christian martyr from the third century. The romantic tradition spread to Luxembourg through French and American influence during the twentieth century.

In Luxembourg, couples exchange flowers, chocolate, or enjoy a romantic dinner. Restaurants are often fully booked. Luxembourg's chocolatiers and florists offer special creations for the occasion.
